RBS BACKS CHILDREN’S NURSERY EXPANSION

A children’s day nursery operator in Sussex has expanded with the opening of a second branch after securing financial support from the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS).

A six-figure funding package has enabled Home from Home to acquire a site on Grand Avenue in Worthing. Directors Nicola Law and Julia Hatcher said the move follows the success of the company’s first day nursery in Hove.

The Worthing branch is due to open at the beginning of October and will have the capacity to provide up to 84 children’s places. The new nursery will employ up to 40 staff as it reaches full capacity.

However, the directors said their target will be to accommodate 25 children in the first year of trading.

Julia Hatcher said: “Nicola has spent 12 years developing a much loved and trusted brand and we feel it is the perfect time to expand with children’s nursery places in demand across Sussex.

“Works are underway and we are excited about opening our doors to welcome new families in Worthing. Without the support of The Royal Bank of Scotland, none of this would have been achievable so we are very grateful for everything they have helped us accomplish.”

Paul Barnes, senior healthcare relationship manager at RBS, added: “Nicola is a well-known individual to the bank who has a proven track record of achieving year on year growth. With her educational expertise and Julia’s business acumen, we are confident they will replicate this proven business model in Worthing and have no doubt our investment will help them achieve greater things to come.”
